The WEC made it official today that they will add a flyweight (125 lbs.) division to the WEC ranks as they dissolve the 170 lbs. division to make way for the lighter division. The WEC already dissolved the light heavyweight 205 lbs. and middleweight 185 lbs. weight classes welcoming some of the competitors in the UFC ranks but you have to wonder if this bodes well for the WC 155 lbs. division which is also represented by the UFC.
In a press release the WEC revealed that the top 170 lbs. in the WEC would be brought into the UFC mentioning Carlos Condit and Brock Larson by name, but it is unclear at this time which others will also be retained.
The flyweight division is an exciting one and should be a great addition to the WEC.
