UFC signs with German broadcaster DSF

In a press release the UFC announced that they have signed a deal with German Broadcaster DSF that will air UFC content beginning March 7. Here is the press release in it’s entirety.

Las Vegas, NV (USA) -- The Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) organisation has announced a new three-year agreement with leading German broadcaster DSF, bringing the world’s most exciting sport to German fight fans each and every week.

Beginning Saturday, March 7, DSF will screen weekly doses of UFC action in the 11pm time slot with UFC® Unleashed™, which features the greatest fights in the UFC’s 16-year history.

In fantastic news for German fans, DSF will also showcase no less than 20 UFC Pay-Per-View and UFC® Fight Night™ events on a delayed basis, beginning on Saturday, March 14 with UFC 96: JACKSON vs. JARDINE taking place live from Columbus, Ohio.

Plus, German fans will get even closer to the action with UFC® Countdown™, UFC® Wired™ and UFC® All Access™ all airing on DSF.
Overall, DSF will bring German combat sports fans over 170 hours of Octagon™ action each year.

Noted combat sports experts Tobias Drews and Oliver Copp will provide German language commentary.

DSF CEO Oliver Reichert said: "With the UFC, we have the absolute premium product in the combat sports area secured. The Ultimate Fighting Championship is highly professionally structured, has great athletes and clear rules and is one of the most popular sports in the world. The UFC upgrades our program portfolio for the year 2009."

UFC President Dana White said, "We’ve always wanted to bring the UFC to Germany. We are very happy to reach this agreement with DSF and look forward to bringing German fight fans the biggest fights and best fighters in the world. Before now, our passionate German fans had to jump on a plane to catch the UFC action, now we are coming to them in their own living rooms on DSF.”
