Jonathan Goulet will be facing Ultimate Fighter 2 welterweight runner up Luke Cummo at Ultimate Fight Night 5 and Goulet is relishing the opportunity to make his way back to the hallowed octagon again. “I’m so happy to be back in the octagon right now, I thought that it was finished for me, my manager did a great job (getting him back in the UFC).

Goulet told MMARR that he believes that Cummo is a good fighter and that he is going to be a challenge for him. “It’s going to be a good war…Cummo is special, he is a warrior, I don’t really know what is going to happen but I’m ready!” He also believes that he is in great fighting condition and promised to give the fans what they want to see. 

Goulet is coming off a loss to Duane Ludwig in his second MMA fight and was scheduled to take on Diego Sanchez at UFC 58 “Canada vs. USA.” He lost his fight by KO, the first lost he suffered after going an impressive 10 without a loss, and also lost his spot on the UFC card to John Alessio, a man he previously defeated in the TKO organization.

Goulet will also be without some of his training partners for this bout, as both Patrick Cote and Georges St. Pierre are both off shooting “The Ultimate Fighter 4” T.V show set to air on Spike TV in August. He is now working with some new faces including Victor Vargotsky, who is also Georges St. Pierre’s kickboxing instructor, and a man that has also worked with the likes of David “The Crow” Loiseau. “I have good trainers and partners, they really miss me but I’m ready. I’m going to meet Georges (St. Pierre) in Vegas and I’ll be with my new trainer Victor (Vargotsky). Goulet will be fighting Luke Cummo in Las Vegas on June 28th at Ultimate Fight Night 5.
