Ken Shamrock won impressively against Kimo Leopoldo and in doing the UFC let out a sigh of relief. They needed their biggest attraction to win and win impressively and he came through. It appears that he trained extensively with fighters outside of the Lion's Den and it paid dividends as he now sets himself up for a number of potentially big UFC main events.

A rematch with Tito Ortiz is not out of the question. Both fighters were at the UFC postfight press conference and Tito stepped into his limelight a little bit and Ken Shamrock reacted defensively to it. Shamrock jumped up and almost engaged Ortiz and had to be held back by an entourage of security guards as well as Vernon Tiger White. After the fights were over Ken Shamrock and Vernon White were walking back to their hotel when we interviewed Mr. White he said he had to keep walking and keep up with Shamrock in case they met Tito Ortiz in the hallway. No matter what anyone tells you about an early stoppage, Frank Mir won his fight fair and square. After the fights, the results from the X rays to Sylvias arm came back and it was discovered that his right arm was broken in two places. He will require surgery and will not be back in the near future. Mir meanwhile answered his critics and although the fight was a short one vindicated much as his performances against Wes Sims were less then impressive. |
