Both fighters are somewhat tentative in the early goings. Griffin opens up with the head kick, and Silva catches a kick and tries for a Irvin-esque punch but Griffin scampers away. Griffin throws a headkick again but he just looks a lot slower than Silva. Silva dropped Griffin with a punch but Griffin gets back to the feet but he looks like he is rocked. Silva looks very confident and is waving Griffin in and drops his hands by his waist to draw Griffin in. Despite having his hands down a la Roy Jones Jr., bobs out of the way of all of Griffin's attacks and still drops Griffin again with punches that are coming from his waist. With Silva's hands down, Griffin came in with a right and left that missed completely and Silva just drove a right jab into the chin that finished Griffin for good. Griffin is so embarrassed he ran out of the Octagon and left before the decision was announced.
