Tim Sylvia has left the UFC and signed with Adrenaline MMA
along with training partner Ben Rothwell. Both fighters are managed by
Monte Cox and both are now members of the newly formed Adrenaline MMA.
Formerly known as M-1 Global, the organization has seen some
restructuring but this news does seem to come at the right time with
both fighters signing multi fight contracts with the new organization.
Coming on the heels of Fedor Emelianenko's departure two solid
Heavyweights have come in to help fill the gap and it appears that
money was an issue in the departures of both fighters from their
respective organizations.
"Adrenaline is a new promotion, but it allows
fighters to fight for other organizations... that's huge," Sylvia said.
"I've got 3 to 4 years left and want to fight as much as possible, so this
is the perfect choice for me at this time." He is coming off a tough loss to Rodrigo Nogueira in a Heavyweight title fight in the UFC, but has defeated the likes of Brandon Vera, Ricco Rodriguez, and Andrei Arlovski in the past.
Ben Rothwell is a training partner of Tim Sylvia and has been undefeated in the IFL. Coming off big victories including a win over former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez, Rothwell has been rumored to be leaving for the M-1 Global organization for some time. "Adrenaline will give me the chance to take things
to the next level," Rothwell said. "I'm ready to see how I fare against
the best heavyweights in the world." Whether he will get his chance or not remains to be seen. Both being from the same team it appears unlikely that the two will fight each other. |
