Lyoto Machida dropped from UFC 89 which will take place on October without their top light heavyweight contendership bout. The proposed bout between Thiago Silva and Lyoto Machida would have been an elimination bout with both undefeated fighters looking for a title shot against Forrest Griffin but
The official UFC website now sees the heavyweight bout between Shane Carwin vs. Neil Wain move up to the man Pay-Per-View card. It is unknown at this time if the bout will be rescheduled at a later time.
The tentative card is as follows and despite the loss of one bout will go one with 11 bouts.
