Jason Day vs. Jason Lambert in the UFC

Canadian Jason Day will be making his third UFC appearance and will be facing off against former heavyweight and light heavyweight competitor Jason Lambert. Day is now 1-1 in the UFC with an impressive victory over David Heath and a subsequent loss to Micheal Bisping. He makes no excuses but feels that his last performance in the world famous octagon was not an accurate representation of his skills.

“My loss to Bisping fired me up.  He came out on blasting and I came out flat, he kicked my ass, end of story.  Nothing felt right in England and it showed in the cage that night.  That was not me in the cage, and I have a lot of anger and intensity built up now and I want to show the world the real Jason Day,” he said.

That talented Canadian could be facing his toughest challenge yet against the 7-time UFC veteran Jason “The Punisher” Lambert. Lambert has had an up and down career in the UFC and his 4-3 record is a testament to that. Two consecutive losses have him cutting down another weight class and competing in the middleweight division. He faced off against Canadian Rob MacDonald in his UFC debut and will match up against Canadian Jason Day in his middleweight debut. Despite Lambert’s weight cut Day is confident he will be victorious.

“Jason Lambert is a UFC vet and I want to dominate him where ever the fight goes.  He has fought some big names and some tough guys in his career and I can't wait to get in the octagon with him.  This fight will go to the ground I have no doubt.  I jumped at the chance to fight him because he is known for his ground game and I want to show everyone that the ground is still my bread and butter.”

Look for an audio interview with Jason Day early next week.
