Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin at UFC 101 in the city of brotherly love. For the first time in UFC history the Octagon will go to the city of brotherly love but there will be no love in the cage when current 185 king faces the former 205 lbs. king Forrest Griffin on August 8th at the Wachovia Center.

Griffin coming off a disappointing loss to Rashad Evans will step into the cage for the first time since losing his belt, and will face off against the man described as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world by Dana White.

Making 205 lbs. for the second time will be the “Spider” Anderson Silva, who took out James Irvin early in the first round of his first foray into the light-heavyweight class.

Silva, who has been heavily criticized for his most recent performances against Patrick Cote and Thales Leites respectively will be facing off a man who is well known for his aggressive, almost over-aggressive style. That style was sure to play a role in the match making of this bout which could be a more highly anticipated 205 lbs. bout than the title fight that will take place between Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans in May!

The main event will see Kenny Florian take on BJ Penn in a lightweight title bout, no other bouts were announced at this time.

silva has the advantage skill wise...... but forrest is bigger and if it goes the distance and only if it goes the distance i think forrest will have a good chance of winning!!..... silva has not seen the 4th or 5th round in any of his fights... we will get to see how much heart he has!!
