BJ Penn confirmed on his own website BJ Penn.com that he will indeed be facing Kenny Florian in the main event of UFC 101 in Philadelphia on August 8. The highly anticipated match-up comes on the heels of his loss to regain the welterweight championship belt from Georges St. Pierre.

June 20th will see the finale of the Ultimate Fighter 9 and the main event will see the first ever Ultimate Fighter winner Diego Sanchez, represent TUF against the relentless Clay Guida. Guida has been on a roll of late knocking off two consecutive TUF winners felling TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz and TUF 6 winner Mac Danzig, both by decision.

Josh Koscheck has been a busy man and will add to his busy schedule by stepping back into the Octagon again against  Team Quest fighter Chris Wilson in his road back into contention following a devastating knockout loss to Paulo Thiago. The UFC officially announced two more matchups for UFC 99 which takes place at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany on June 13. In the UFC’s first foray onto German soil, welterweight contender Mike Swick will step into the Octagon against Ben Saunders

It is now official, Lyoto Machida will be facing Rashad Evans for the light-heavyweight championship belt on May 23 replacing the Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar bout that was scrapped due to a Frank Mir knee injury.

The UFC officially announced via their website that Rich Franklin will indeed be facing off against Wanderlei Silva at UFC 99 in Germany at a catchweight of 195 lbs. This will be the UFC's first foray into Germany.

According to the official website of Joe Lauzon, the UFC lightweight will be out of action for a significant amount of time recouperating from major surgury.

Korean-Japanese fighter Yoshihiro Akiyama has signed on with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and should make his debut sometime this year. The fighter who spent his whole career fighting in the K-1/Dream organization will be making his U.S. debut.

In a press release the UFC announced that they have signed a deal with German Broadcaster DSF that will air UFC content beginning March 7.
