Photo courtesy of Josh Hedges at www.ufc.tv AL : Where do you see the sport going from here on out? Forrest Griffin : I think it is going to continue to grow, it is doing well right now and I think it is going to be doing better shortly. Arnold Lim: Are there any fighters that you look up to or enjoy watching? FG: You know I had the wonderful experience of meeting both Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell both of those guys have a lot of admirable qualities. As far as how the manage their status as who they are their training and their families just the balance they both seem to have, you know they both seem to strike. AL : Inevitably I would expect for them to meet for a third time, who do you have in the third one? Forrest Griffin : I dont know, I am not really good at predicting fights. AL : Who do you train with? Forrest Griffin : I train with Adam and Rory Singer at the Hardcore Gym. It is great these are the guys that got me started I have been training the whole time I have been doing this and there is still a lot I can learn from them. Arnold Lim: You are going to be fighting a man named Bill Mahood. What are your thoughts on Bill Mahood? FG: He has got real good energy and he is a real good striker. You know he is pretty wild. I dont want to call him sloppy on the ground but he is a relentless fighter. AL : Have you had the chance to watch him fight much? Forrest Griffin : I have seen a little bit of footage on him but not as much as I would like to. Arnold Lim: How do you see the fight going? FG: Shit man I dont really think about that to tell you the truth, it is just my only problem with fighting is making it out there for the first exchange. Once that happens everything takes care of itself. |
