For Renato Sobral, revenge is on the agenda for August 26th. The result of the match between Renato Babalú Sobral and the current UFC lightheavyweight champion of Ultimate Fighting Championship Chuck Liddell may suprise some and a new champion may rise in the light-heavyweight division. Seeking the 205 pound belt, Brazilian standout Renato Sobral has been training hard with the world famous Nogueira brothers from Brazilian Top Team, among others, to sharpen his game and surprise Liddell. "I have been training a little harder for this fight. It will be five rounds of five minutes and I will be ready to fight the whole 5 rounds", stated Sobral, who after being defeated by Liddell at UFC 40, by KO, has won all of ten bouts in a row, including names such as Travis Wiuff, Jeremy Horn and Pride Middleweight GP champion Mauricio Shogun...

MMA Ring Report - You are coming off ten straight wins and had defeated many wrestlers… what are your thoughts on Chuck Liddell? Are you training hard for this upcoming title fight?

Renato Sobral - I can tell you I have been training a lot of Boxing, but my game will be the same. I will put him down and use Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to submit him! I have been training as much as any other match... but to be honest, I have been training a little harder for this fight. It will be five rounds of five minutes and I will be ready to fight the whole rounds. I will be 100%.

MMA Ring Report - You were seen training with guys from Brazilian Top Team… what does that mean to your training?

Renato Sobral - I haven’t switched teams. I represent Gracie Barra Combat Team… but I did an exchange with friends from Brazilian Top Team. I did train with the Nogueira brothers at X-Gym, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in Rio de Janeiro. So, when I heard Rodrigo and Rogério were training near by, I went there to train with them and also with other friends such as Edson Drago and Antônio Pezão. All of them have been my friends ffor a long time and I consider it an important thing because their help added a lot to my training.

MMA Ring Report - You said you will put him down and use Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to submit… but on the other hands, he said he will KO you again

Renato Sobral - The only hit he will apply is on the floor, when he taps out!

MMA Ring Report - Fans of the UFC have seen your BJJ improvement. Tell me a little who different will be this fight from the UFC 40.

Renato Sobral - In spite of my Jiu-Jitsu, I think my head is in the right place and I am totally focused in this fight. I am well supported by my team. Gracie Barra Combat team’s guys are the best! In fact, the result of UFC 40’s fight is my motivation. Chuck Liddell has KO’d me. He was the only fighter to beat me for real. No complaints. He was the best and now things will be different. I will do my best to be the champion.

MMA Ring Report - And about you weight... you look a little heavy…

Renato Sobral - I am 5kg over my regular weight, but I have been training hard and getting lighter. As close the fight comes, I will be in the ideal weight.

MMA Ring Report - You were seen at the beach in Rio de Janeiro with your little daughter Maria Fernanda. What do you do for fun?

Renato Sobral - It’s true. I love spending time with her and she is my biggest fun nowadays. But I also have fun training as well. I really enjoying training… I don’t see it as a daily work. I have fun doing what I like and it does matter to me.
