UFC and Pride veteran Allan Goes has found a new house: The International Fight League’s TigerSharks. There, the former Brazilian Top Team’s heavyweight fighter has done a great job, submitting Devin Cole in September and taking out fellow Brazilian Daniel Gracie by KO. During this exclusive interview to MMARR, the Brazilian fighter talks about his impressions about the last bout and how is his training with the TigerSharks. "The training is awesome, lots of striking, kicks, and punches. That is one of the reasons I defeated Daniel Gracie by KO," he explains. However, he does not forget his roots. "Jiu-Jitsu and ground game is my nature, my home," he says. Read the full interview below:
 
MMARR - Tell me about your fight with Daniel Gracie
 
Allan Goes - It was a great fight, very exciting. It was my second fight… in the first one I defeated Devin Cole at heavyweights, and then they asked me who I’d like to fight in the super fight. I choose Daniel Gracie because I think it would be a great fight for me. Since I was a kid, the Carlson Gracie Team has kept a good rivalry with Gracie Barra. I had defeated Daniel in a gi competition before, I thought it was time for us to fight in the ring. 
 
MMARR - How long have you been living in US?
 
Allan Goes - I have been living in the United States for 15 years. I spent a season in Brazil , but in my country things are very complicated to live and fight. Now I am fine in here, I’ve been training with the International Fight League’s TigerSharks and I will probably return to the ring in January.
 
MMARR - So, don’t you have plans to come back to Brazil ?
 
Allan Goes -No, I don’t have plans to return. Right now, with the IFL, we formed a team, like a soccer or basketball team… with coaches and alternates. I have signed a one-year contract with them and according to them, it will be around nine bouts per year. So, I have to focus in the team.
 
MMARR - Tell me more about the TigerSharks. How is the training?
 
Allan Goes - The team is formed of five athletes and three alternates, who will be in the ring in case any of them got injured. The coach of my team is Maurice Smith and I am the captain. The training is awesome. I train a lot of striking… kicking, punching. That is one of the reasons I defeated Daniel Gracie by KO. I have been training where I was not supposed to be good, striking. Jiu-Jitsu and the ground game is my nature, my home.

MMARR - So, you are no longer a BTT fighter, right? You are a TigerShark…
 
Allan Goes - I will always represent Carlson Gracie and BTT in my life. I do respect a lot the master’s job. He was a father for me and I have lots of friends at Brazilian Top Team. But now I have to move on and I have a team and it’s called the TigerSharks.
 
MMARR - And about the tournament? The TigerSharks were defeated in the last phase, right?
 
Allan Goes - Yes, we were defeated in the semifinals by 3x2 by the WolfPack, captained by Matt Lindland. Now they will do the finals against the Pat Miletich’s Silver Backs on December 29. In the same event, Renzo Gracie will do a super fight against Carlos Newton.

Allan Goes - I want to say to them I am happy in my new house and I am glad to return to the rings. I thank them all for the support and for believing I my work. I have been focused in my academy and I love Brazil so much.
