ProElite, Inc. [PELE.PK], an entertainment and media company dedicated to producing world-class MMA events, today announced the acquisition of ICON Sport, Hawaiis first and most lucrative MMA organization.
The formal announcement of the new partnership was made by Gary Shaw, President of EliteXC, the respected live fight division of Los Angeles, Calif.-based ProElite, Inc.
This is an exciting day for all of our organizations, but the biggest winners will be fans in Hawaii, Shaw said. In a short span of 12 months, EliteXC has already got the well-deserved reputation for staging sensational fights with the worlds top fighters.
With the acquisition of ICON Sport, ProElite and EliteXC continue to establish itself as the fast-growing, premier MMA organization in the world. I look forward to developing Hawaii as the next stronghold in MMA.
ProElites partnership will help secure ICONs foothold in Hawaiis dominance in MMA, as well as provide the resources needed to expand the companys operations into an international fight brand.
ICONs vision is to provide a foundation that nurtures the original spirit of martial arts in its students, as evidenced in the feng shui designed interior of the school, and develop the next wave of MMA greats in this worldwide sport.
From day one we have discovered the raw talent that make up Hawaiian MMA in Kaleo Kwan, Kala Kalohe Hose, Mark Oshiro, and Hawaiian trained EliteXC Lightweight Champion KJ Noons, ICONs T.J. Thompson said .
ICON [formerly SuperBrawl] also began the career path for greats such as Frank Shamrock, Vitor Belfort, Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin, Tim Sylvia, Robbie Lawler, Mayhem Miller, Frank Trigg and Takanori Gomi
Hawaii grows warriors and will continue to give rise to MMAs future champions. |
