Is Jake Shields moving up to the middleweight division? With a dirth of challenges in the EliteXC fold for him at welterweight, Shields may be looking to try his hand in the middleweight division.

Following his bout with Paul Daley he made the comments in his post-fight interview and this may work out well for the talented welterweight. He appeared to be the much bigger of the two fighters, and while it is unknown at this point whether the decision is motivated by a lack of competition at 170, or a difficulty making the weight, the jump may prove to be a lucrative decision for Shields. A matchup with Robbie Lawler, should he get by Joey Villasenor, could be an intriguing possibility for EliteXC.
