Fedor Emelianenko is a free agent no more. After an intense round of negotiations with both the UFC and Strikeforce, Fedor Emelianenko and his management team have decided to sign on with Strikeforce who will co-promote with M-1 Global and see him fight for the first in the fall on the Showtime network.

The co-promotion was seen by many as the main sticking point in the negotiations between the UFC and Emelianenko’s management team, and again it proved to be a point of contention as the world’s best heavyweight continues to fight out side of the UFC Octagon.

“I am looking forward to going back to work and fighting at the highest level," said Emelianenko who will be fighting in the cage for the first time ever. “Strikeforce is a top fight promotion that houses some of the greatest fighters in the world,” continued Emelianenko.  “I am prepared to fight any of them.”
