A very public war of words between KJ Noons and EliteXC has culminated with Noons losling his lightweight title. Citing Noons’ refusal to face Nick Diaz in a rematch of they November bout which ended with Noons via a TKO due to cuts.

EliteXC announced the that Kimbo Slice will meet UFC Hall of Fame fighter Ken Shamrock at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In other action Jake Shields will face Paul Daley, Gina Carano will face Kelly Kobald, Christiane Santos will face Yoko Takahashi, and Murilo Rua will face Benji Radach.

FRIANT, Calif. (Aug. 16, 2008) – In an inspired and impressive performance, once-beaten light heavyweight Jared Hamman (11-1) got his revenge against Po’ai Suganuma (9-2), winning by 2:34, first-round TKO.

Robbie Lawler defeated Scott Smith, Nick Diaz defeated Thomas Denny, Jake Shields defeated Nick Thompson, Antonio Silva defeated Justin Eilers and more as Elite XC stormed CBS for the second time.

Everything is set as the weigh ins for Elite XC took place Robbie Lawler will take on Scott Smith for the second time on CBS. They will be joined by Nick Diaz and Antonio Silva in Stockton, California as CBS broadcast's their second MMA event.

It was announced that the next CBS ELITE XC SATURDAY NIGHT FIGHTS will take place at the Stockton Arena, and be broadcast live on Saturday, July 26. There will be 4 fights on the live broadcast featuring a main event of Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith.

The weigh ins for the first MMA event showing on Primetime on a major network are in the bag but one of Elite's biggest stars, Gina Carano, missed the contracted weight of 140 lbs. by four and a half pounds. All other fighters weighed in without issue and the event is set to take place tomorrow in front of what the executives at Elite hope will be a record MMA viewership.
