Kim Couture will make her professional MMA debut Friday at a
combination boxing-MMA show -- one that's expected to draw
approximately 18,000 spectators at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center. After that, though, the pro MMA rookie and Vice President of Xtreme Couture isn't sure what the future holds.
However, Couture today told TAGG Radio, the
official radio partner of MMAjunkie.com, that she's
been in talks with Strikeforce about a possible deal, and that the
Kentucky-based American Fight League has offered a lucrative contract.
Couture also debunked rumors of her past and why Matt Hughes eventually apologized for fueling some of the speculation. Full Article

Reigning Cage Warriors welterweight champion Dan Hardy will reportedly make his debut with the Ultimate Fighting Championship at a yet-to-be-announced international event on October 18th in his native country of England.
The news comes from Sherdog.coms latest European Throwdown column.
Hardy, who signed a four-fight deal to fight under the Zuffa banner, has won eight out of his last nine fights, his lone defeat being a disqualification loss to fellow UFC newcomer Yoshiyuki Yoshida last December. Hardy most recently scored a TKO win over Daniel Weichel on May 3rd. The Nottingham native also stopped Chad Reiner with strikes at a Cage Warriors event last month.
It means everything to finally be at the pinnacle of mixed martial arts, Hardy said concerning his signing last month. Even kids who have never taken a martial arts class in their life dream about fighting in the UFC - it is the Premier League of MMA and there was nowhere else I wanted to be. I cannot wait to step into the Octagon and showcase myself on the biggest stage in MMA.
While potential opponents for Hardy have not yet been revealed, its likely that the UFC could consider setting up a rematch between him and Yoshida, who scored his first UFC win by submitting Ultimate Fighter cast member Jon Koppenhaver last month. Full Article

Longtime fan-favorite Don Frye will return to action when he takes on colorful Japanese veteran Ikuhisa Minowa, who will continue his open-weight fighting quest at a scheduled DEEP event entitled Gladiator on August 16th in Japan.
The organization announced the event earlier today.
Frye quickly picked up his first win of this year back in January, scoring a first-round knockout of Bryan Pardoe in the main event of a NoLimit Fighting show in Dallas. Despite noticeably falling off talent-wise as he approaches the twilight of his career, Frye has only lost once in his last six fights.
Meanwhile Minowa has strugged as of late, losing three out of his last four bouts. His only win was a submission of former professional baseball player Bum Chan Kang at DREAMs inaugural event in March. He most recently lost an unanimous decision to Taiei Kin at DREAM.2 in April.
Additional bouts announced for the card include Daijiro Matsui vs. Eun Soo Lee and a K-1 rules bout between Gary Goodridge vs. Hiromi Amada. HT: Fight Opinion via Japan-MMA

Former WEC lightweight champion Razor Rob McCullough will likely continue his journey to regain his title later this year, possibly taking on undefeated prospect Donald Cowboy Cerrone in a bout with potential title shot implications.
The news comes from MMA Mania, which reports that the fight is currently in the works and could either take place at planned WEC events in August or September.
McCullough bounced back from a brutal TKO loss that cost him his welterweight title at the hands of current champion Jamie Varner in February by avenging a prior loss to Kenneth Alexander via split decision earlier this month in Sacramento. The bout will likely mark the fifth consecutive time that McCullough has been in a Zuffa-televised bout.
Cerrone, who has yet to lose thus far in his professional career, was also victorious at the WECs latest effort earlier this month, submitting Danny Castillo with an armbar during a preliminary bout. The fight was his first since being suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after testing positive for a banned diuretic last year.
Officially announced by the WEC today was a bantamweight showdown between rising contender Brian Bowles and Jacksons Submission Fighting product Damacio Page. That fight will take place at the promotions next event on August 3rd in Las Vegas. Full Article
