Ivan Menjivar has signed to return to fight in TKO. After a long and tumultuous relation ship between Menjivar and TKO president Stephane Patry, Menjivar who is considered by many to be one of the top 145 pound fighters in the world, is now back in the fold. The TKO president told us, The main thing with Ivan, I always respected him as an athlete and I always thought he was world class athlete. I was not happy at all with the man, Ivan the human, I felt he betrayed me on a few occasions and was not acting like a professional. Last week I met with him and was very impressive with the new Menjivar, he was a new man, he was very professional and you know what? I think he could be a good asset to TKO. Patry will also be helping Menjivar in some management capacity, how deep that capacity is at this point is unclear. It is a promotional contract but not like a management contract like [I have] with Georges [St. Pierre] or David [Loiseau]. And as part of the contract Patry tells us, I will help him get fights on the international scene. However, he says he is now exclusive to TKO in Quebec and will not be fighting in any other organizations in the province. The only other question that begs to be asked is when or will Menjivar fight for the title against Mark Homnick? We have two guys in the top ten, why have them fight each other? Everyone knows I am building the division around Hominick and Ivan knows that. We can never say never but this is not part of the plan.
