After eating a series of leg kicks, Dan MacIver quickly changed levels for a double leg takedown that put his opponent, Keith Gagnon, on his back. An ensuing scramble led to the lean and lanky MacIver gaining back control of the downed Gagnon. From there, MacIver worked to solidify the dominant position as he sunk in both hooks and pounded away with punches until referee Jason Williamson stopped the bout. The defeated Gagnon was initially upset, complaining the stoppage was premature. However, as a wobbled Gagnon staggered back to his corner, it was obvious Williamson had made the correct call.
Kamloops native, Karl Krolak, put on a dominate and impressive performance by submitting Nolan Clark only one minute into the opening stanza. Off the opening bell Krolak charged across the ring and hammered Clark with a straight right hand, which immediately put Clark on rubber legs, and nearly finished the fight right then and there. Unfortunately, circumstances would not improve for the weather-beaten Clark. As Clark tried to regain his bearings, the fight spilled to the canvas, and found himself trapped in a triangle choke from the lightning fast Krolak. It took only a matter of seconds for Krolak to tighten the choke, which forced Clark to tap.
First timer, T-Ong Komany, took a while to get warmed up, but once he did it was an impressive performance against the formidable Greg Hudson. After a relatively even opening round, Komany turned up heat in round two as he beat and battered Hudson with punches, and nearly finished the fight with an arm-triangle choke. The bloodied and battered Hudson was able to survive, but the dominant second round left little in Hudson's gas tank. As the combatants waded through the third round each would trade takedowns, but neither could string together enough offence to end the fight. After three - 3 minute rounds, it was Komany who earned a hard fought split decision.
In other action, Aaron Burke steamrolled past an over-matched Nathan Dunn via tap out from punches only two and a half minutes into the initial round.
World Extreme Fight Team member, Landon Kinney, not only won his bout against Doug Lowney, but also won the heart of his girlfriend. After the victory, Kinney brought his girlfriend into the ring and asked for her hand in marriage. She said YES!Congratulations to the happy couple.
