If there were any questions about the hard-hitting mixed martial arts fighter Adam Gabel's willingness or ability to take the fight to the mat, those doubts were answered when he scooped the legs of boxer Shane “The Warrior” Wilson and planted him into the canvas off the opening bell.

“I didn’t want to stand with him,” he said following his fight, and it proved to be a wise decision as Gabel put the talented boxer out of his element, and drove hard hands from the mount that sent thuds through the ring every time he landed a clean blow to an unconscious Wilson’s face.

Gabel, who trained at American Top Team in Florida in preparation for this fight, soon found his hands raised after finishing Wilson at 1:45 of the first round when referee John Cooper stepped in to halt the onslaught. Wilson, despite some heat with Gabel coming into the bout, was sportsmanlike and offered congratulations to the Victor in what was surely a rocky welcome into the world of MMA.

Victoria's hometown fighter Gabriel Varga continued to improve his record retaining his ISKA World Super-Lightweight title against the challenge of Toronto's Matt Embree. Varga used body attacks to his advantage tenderizing the abdomen of the Siam Noi product with an almost rhythmic barrage of body blows that paid dividends in the eyes of the judges en route to a dynamic five-round decision over the gritty Embree.

Dan Laughey grinded a mount-and-pound victory from James Crockett of Final Round Gym in an MMA bout. Crockett came in having fought only a week before at Saturday Night Fights in Duncan.

Keri "The Crusher" Crothers took a four-round decision from Ontario product Natalie Yip in a hotly contested kickboxing bout that saw both fighters have their opportunities to take over the offense in the bout. With very vocal support from the hometown crowd, Crothers did just enough to take the bout in the eyes of the judges in her return to kickboxing action.

Leigh Mueller of Canada's Best Karate, like a handful of other fighters on the card, fought for the second consecutive weekend and won again with a strategic victory over Shayan Azizbabigi. Following an impressive mild upset over Johnny "Two Feathers" in his first boxing bout last weekend, Mueller returned to Kickboxing and his experience paid dividends again. Feignts, and a more varied arsenal of attacks high and low were the order of the day and was enough to take the decision after three rounds of kickboxing.

Aaron Varga defeated Benson Virtucio pitching a shut out over four rounds to secure the ISKA North American Lightweight title while putting on a show for the crowd. While Virtucio stayed in the pocket as best he could, he never get into his comfort zone against Varga who was faster and more mobile at every turn and earned the well-deserved decision over four rounds.

Adam Blanchette was able to do enough to take the decision from Mike Downie after three rounds of kickboxing.

Alex Tribe used his superior hand speed and aggressiveness to take a dominant decision over Anthony Verela. From the outset it was clear that the natural quickness of Tribe would play a big part in te fight, and it did as Tribe walked Verela down controlling the ring and firing off combinations at will. Tribe did leave himself open to some counters preferring to use his offense as his best defense and it paid off for him against an over matched Verela.

Parker Lang scored the first knock out of the card stopping John Koblanski at 2:26 of the first round in the first stoppage of the card. Lang appeared to be the more seasoned striker, and that was a bad combination for Koblanski who kept his chin up much to high when he punched. Lang eventually found his mark pinning Koblanski in the corner and landing combinations on the chin to finish in the first round.

Al Murray and Jag Dhaliwal engaged in what looked like a hockey fight at times, with both competitors throwing caution and defense out the ring in favor of heavy  looping punches that started in Duncan and ended in the ring of Western Speedway. In the end Murray took the decision after three rounds of boxing.

Cory Hastings was able to take a kickboxing bout from Robby Espenberg after three rounds of kickboxing.

Connor Riddell took a two round MMA decision from Josh Williams in the first MMA action of the evening. Surprisingly, Williams came in on the losing end of a fight last weekend at Saturday Night Fights, so this was his second MMA bout in a week, and like last week he came up a little short again. Riddell was rock solid landing a knee that buckled Williams as the bell sounded - but he despite his best efforts he could not put the game Williams away.
