Martijn de Jong will be putting on Shooto Holland: "Holland vs the World" this Saturday in Culemborg, Holland. The event will consist of a single muay thai bout and 11 professional Shooto bouts starring fighters from eight different nations. Also, the event will start off with a pre-show featuring some amateur Shooto bouts. The most interesting fight of the night has to be between the ADCC Europe Heavyweight champion Mika Ilmen and the latest Golden Glory star Murad Chunkayev who defeated Andrey Semenov in only his third mixed martial arts fight. To top things off, former Pride heavyweight champion Antonio "Minotauro" Nogueira will be present as a special guest.
Fight Card:
-76 kg Jan Overduin (John Verstegen, Holland) vs Matthieu Lawalata (Physical Ede, Holland)
-78 kg Siyar Bahadurzahda (Tatsujin Dojo, Holland) vs Hubert Veenendaal (Physical Ede, Holland)
-110 kg Mika Ilmen (Team Scandinavia, Sweden) vs Murad Chunkayev (Golden Glory, Chechnya)
-91 kg Evert Fyeet (Jing Wu, Holland) vs Kassim Hannan (Quoniam Gym, France)

-72 kg Roemer Trompert (Tatsujin Dojo, Holland) vs Toniko Junior (World Fight Center, Brazil)
-65 kg Eric Waardenburg (Hybrid Dojo, Belgium) vs Augusto Frota (Team Frota, Switzerland)
-91 kg Bastiaan Rejen (Tatsujin Dojo, Holland) vs David Bielkheden (Team Scandinavia, Sweden)
-76 kg Sauli Heilemo (Team Scandinavia, Sweden) vs Mario Stapel (Power Academy, Germany)
-70 kg Marc Duncan (Tatsujin Dojo, Holland) vs Metin Pislik Yakut (Gym Alkmaar, Holland)
+ 100 kg (Muay Thai) Clyde van Dams (ss Nieuwendam, Holland) vs TBA (Belgium)
The fighters from Martijn de Jongs Tatsujin Dojo will always be some of the best ground fighters in the Dutch mixed martial arts scene. The fight between Marc Duncan and Metin Yakut will be especially interesting because Duncan is one of Martijns best students and is known to be very technical while Metin Yakut is top level kickboxer and probably one of the most experienced lightweight fighters in Holland. Also, Mario Stapel from Germany against Swedish Sauli Heilemo is going to be a very exciting fight. Heilemo has a variety of titles in mixed martial arts and submission wrestling and is also a veteran of the M-1 Mix-Fight series from Russia. 2H2H veteran Stapel is fresh off his victory at the last Extreme Brawl show in England over Paul Jenkins and he will take another big step in his career if he can beat Heilemo.
The French fighters from Quoniam Gym are known to be very technical ground fighters so it will be interesting to see if Evert Fyeet and Mauk van den Bijlaard will be able to deal with them. Also the two Brazilians from the World Fight Center will be difficult to stop. They already come in with Shooto Japan experience so it will be a test for the lesser experienced European fighters to deal with them. For the muay thai fans there is the appearance of Clyde van Dams, younger brother of K-1 fighter Loyd van Dams, against a fighter from Belgium. Finally, credit must be given to Murad Chunkayev for accepting a fight with a far heavier opponent on such late notice. Although Ilmen is the European ADCC Qualifier Champion, his mixed martial arts career has not been very successful. Chunkayev on the other hand has shown great potential in his mixed martial arts bouts by displaying some amazing wrestling skills and heavy hands. Look for him to finish off Ilmen by TKO.
