The one and only Ozzy Osbourne will perform at Affliction Day of Reckoning which takes place on October 11, 2008 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas Nevada. Despite some negative response from MMA fans who felt that Megadeths performance at Affliction Banned was a distraction and interrupted the flow of the event, Affliction vice president is excited about bringing Ozzy to perform at the event.
To bring the Godfather of Heavy Metal to our event is a dream come true, he said. An incredible fight card combined with Ozzys live performance, our fight in Las Vegas will be an unforgettable event. To be fair Osbourne is a much more popular figure than Megadeth and has a number of hits including Crazy Train, No More Tears, Mamma Im Coming Home and more.
In all fairness, Osbourne is considered a much more impressive live performer than Megadeth and is one of the most respected heavy metal figures of all time. In addition, he is well known for being a reality TV star bringing a behind the scenes look at his family life in The Osbournes, a turn that helped make his family members stars as well. Every performance needs a little blood, said Ozzy Osbourne. I look forward to seeing the fighters get roughed up a bit. Performing in Las Vegas is always a good time.
The event which will be headlined by Andrei Arlovski taking on Josh Barnett will be a number one contender match with the winner facing off against current WAMMA champion Fedor Emelianenko. In other action former IFL fighter Vladimir Matyushenko will take on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in a rematch, Mike Quicksand Pyle will battle Jason High, and Roy Nelson will face The Headhunter Paul Buentello.
