According to the California State Athletic Commission Alexandre Nogueira tested positive for Boldenone and has been suspended. Nogueira is coming off a losing effort to Jose Aldo at WEC 34 and has been suspended throught May 31, 2009. Nogueira who had a stellar career through 2005 has had been on hard times losing three of his last four bouts.

According to a statement from the CSAC “His "A" Sample was tested at Quest Diagnostics and his "B" Sample was tested at Laboratoire de controle du dopage in Laval, Quebec, Canada (a WADA certified test facility).” He has been fined $2,500.00 US dollars for the infraction.
