MMA News More failed drug tests in MMA

The failed drug tests continue to roll in for MMA fighters as John George became the first fighter in California to have his license as a professional athlete revoked for his second anabolic steroid violation.

Last competing for MEZ Sports Partners on June 14, 2008, he will be eligible to reapply after September 23, 2009 but would have to appear in front of the CSAC and have them vote on his reinstatement.

In other related news, Alijah Reni who competed on September 12, 2008 at War Gods has been suspended for adulterating his drugs of abuse drug test. A $1,000.00 dollar fine accompanies his suspension which will run through March 11, 2009.

In addition, Jeremy Tavares has been suspended for his second marijuana violation and has also been fined $1,000.00 by the commission on top of his suspension which will run through March 12, 2009. His test stems from his bout on Strikeforce “Young Guns” which took place on September 13, 2008.
