Jonathan Goulet to fight on TFC - FIRST BLOOD

ImageThe Fight Club Promotions Inc. in association with FightSport MMA is pleased to announce that Eric “Butterbean” Esch will highlight a professional MMA event scheduled for December 28, 2007 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Butterbean is 10-3-1 (4 KO’s) as an MMA fighter and has a combined boxing and MMA professional fight record of 78-8-4 (58 KO’s). His opponent Nick Penner of Edmonton, is a former Canadian Kickboxing Champion and is undefeated as a professional.

The event, which is dubbed “FIRST BLOOD” is the first event staged by new MMA promotion company The Fight Club. The Fight Club is the MMA arm of KO Boxing Promotions of Edmonton, western Canada’s top boxing promotions company with 20 years experience in staging world class events.

The event will also feature the first ever Canadian MMA championship title fight sanctioned by the prestigious Canadian Boxing Federation. The 170 lb welterweight title fight will be between Jonathan Goulet from Victoriaville, Quebec and Jason MacKay of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Goulet (19-9-0) is a veteran of the UFC and is the more experienced fighter, while MacKay (5-0-0) is undefeated as a professional MMA fighter.
