A new documentary about Olympic silver medalist Matt Lindland will be released and according to
a press release, UFC president and part owner Dana White doesnt like
it. In the trailer many journalists such as Jeff Sherwood and Loretta
Hunt of Sherdog.com, Josh Gross of Sports Illustrated, and Kevin Iole
of Yahoo.com express their thoughts about why Matt Lindland is not in
the UFC and the politics behind his expulsion from the biggest MMA
promotion in the world.
Lindland had his contract cut from the UFC following an incident at at UFC weigh ins where he wore a shirt that the UFC did not approve of. He had a record of 9-3 in the UFC at that time and was building towards a match with the UFC middleweight champion of that time Rich "Ace" Franklin. Franklin would go on to be a star in the UFC and coach a season of the Ultimate Fighter without having fought whom most considered the #1 contender to the belt, Matt "The Law" Lindland.
This is an excerpt from the release.
