ImageAdam Smith now has the dubious distinction of being the only fighter in the history of the California state athletic commission to test positive for both performance enhancing drugs and drugs of abuse at the same time. Smith Competed at the Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion event  and tested positive for cocaine as well as Marijuana. Today it was learned through an email from the California State Athletic Commission that he has tested positive for “anabolic agents with metabolites for both Nandrolone and Stanozolol.”

Smith was originally suspended from September 29th 2007 until June 25, 2008 but that has now been extended to Sept 28, 2007 due to the positive test for anabolic agents. He was fined $1,500.00 American dollars for his first suspension but has now been levied an additional $2,500.00 dollar fine for a total of $4,000.00.

Smith was not the only fighter suspended by the commission. Bill Mahood was also suspended for testing positive for Drostanolone. He is suspended until Sept 8th, 2008 and has also been fined $2,500.00 dollars.
