The island isn’t known for experiencing extreme weather but on the weekend of May 12 2007, Victoria will be experiencing a twister. Eddie "the twister" Bravo will be conducting a jiu jitsu seminar at the Victoria Jujitsu Academy that weekend.
Bravo is known world wide for is innovative martial arts skill, put the jiu jitsu community on its ear with revolutionary moves such as the Electric Chair, Mission Control, the Rubber Guard and of course, the Twister. In 2003, Eddie won the world jiu jitsu championships beating Royler Gracie (of the famed Gracie family, the inventors of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu),the first American to do so in over 60 years.
Ari Bolden, the owner of the Victoria Jujitsu Academy says this: " Not only is Eddie the unofficial UFC ring side scorer during the pay per views, his jiu jitsu skill is amazing. The evolution of the art is changing and he is one of the pioneers of this change. As a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, he’s top notch. I wanted to bring in a guest instrutor who would really help my students develop their game to the next level. This is one of the guys that can do it."
The art of jiu jitsu uses leverage, joint attacks, ground fighting, chokes and throws to achieve its objective. It is one of the worlds most complete and sought after martial arts.
