The main event started quickly with both fighters exchanging hard blows to the head and body and both fighters looking spry and moving well despite their monstrous frames. Much of the fight was spent against the fence with Christiansen pinning him against the fence and both fighters exchanging knee's to the body. Larry Landless had to restart the fight 3 times, for inactivity and the third time was the charm for Pele, he was able to land a crippling right hook on the chin of Christiansen that wobbled the his knee's and sent him to the canvas. The biggest show in the history of the KOTC was decimated by injuries In what turned out to be an injury fest as much as an MMA card. The KOTC did good job of doing what they could to fill out a card that was rapidly filling the local hospices with injury riddled fighters that would not be able to compete in the KOTC on this day. In fact almost every fight was in some way, involved in some sort of injury to a fighter. The unfortunate events inevitably took its toll on the Card. |

November 1st, 2002, Silver Legacy Reno, Nevada was home to King of the Cage "Sudden Impact." On a cold Fall night, things quickly heated up as a sold-out crowd waited anxiously to watch a line-up filled with veteran competitors as well as, up and comers. Even though the original main event was to be Pele vs. Bobish, with Pele failing his eye exam, the new main event between heavyweights Paul "Headhunter" Buentello vs. Mike "Mak" Kyle didn't disappoint fight fans. |
