King of the Cage Impact 2 photographs from the Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo

NANAIMO, B.C., - King of the Cage promoters John Cooper and Ken Kupsch brought MMA back to Vancouver Island giving islanders a rare glimpse at future MMA star Rory McDonald.

The fighters weighed in for King of the Cage “Island Pride” as Nanaimo will welcome one of MMA’s longest standing promotions back to the Frank Crane Arena for the third time.

Some impressive local talent was on display as fighters such as Jason Heit, Nick Driedger, Ryan Janes, Darcy James, Aaron Bruce, and and Dan Maciver went on to impressive victories while Nick Hinchliffe, and Adam Gabel fell in upsets at King of the Cage "Impact".

King of the Cage makes it's return to Vancouver Island with a main event of islander Jason Heit taking on Elmer Waterhen and Nick Hinchliffe facing off against Dan MacIver. Click on for the full card.

EDMONTON, ALBERTA: April 4, 2008 - The King of the Cage returned to the West Edmonton Mall with "Brawl at the Mall 3" and hometown fighter Travis Galbraith was able to regain the light-heavyweight championship belt he lost from Nick Hinchliffe five months before. The bout was a quick one as both fighters tied up almost immediately to kick off the main event. Galbraith who was able to secure the front headlock position from the clinch, fastened his arms around Hinchliffe's neck, and eventually sank in a solid guillotine choke / neck crank combination that forced Hinchliffe to tap out in the main event of the night. Both fighters have notched a win over the other and it appears they are headed for an eventual rubber match to settle the score for good.
