Having just watched the first round of the Open weight Pride Grand Prix I have put pen to paper and put together a list of random ramblings regarding the Pride Grand Prix show that took place on the 25th of April. One big upset mixed in with a mixed bag of fights that included fighters that had no business in the Pride Grand Prix came off with well
Mixed results. |

Questions, questions, questions, it seemed there were nothing but question marks coming into the TKO 15 event that took place today in Montreal. Would the main event see the re-emergence of the Crow into the top contender that we saw before the Rivera fight? Would Jeremy Horn claim his first high profile victory at his new found 185 pound weight class? |

With Southern California weather, and bumper to bumper traffic, many obstacles were thrown at the promoters of the King Of The Cage show to pull off a successful show. Calm, relaxed, and sporting his usual smile Terry Trebilcock, head of King Of The Cage was confident his show would be a success. A near sellout crowd eventually made it through the gates to fill up the seats to confirm Trebilcock's formula. The same formula the California State Athletic Commission has yet to figure out. Promoting the sport of Mixed Martial Arts in California equals cash paying butts in seats. Pretty simple equation for anyone to understand. |

The secret is out, for the second time in as many fights, Pete The Secret Weapon Spratt lost to an opponent by rear naked choke. This time it was Chris Lytle in Bellville, IL for Reality Submission Fightings Shooto Challenge 2. Utilizing the same game plan Georges St. Pierre used just over a month ago, Lytle was looking for a takedown as early as possible but Lytle was going to have to stand with Spratt for at least a moment. In that moment, both fighters threw a flurry of kicks and punches, any of which could have ended the fight earlier but instead, Lytle went for the takedown and Spratt got the front headlock. Spratt fell to his back holding Lytles head., but Lytle would eventually free his head and work his way onto Spratts back. |

Friday, Dec,5th 2003, Extreme Challenge 55 returned to Lakemoor, IL and the Lakemoor Banquet Facility, which was the back up sight to the once moved EC 54 a few months back. 15 minutes late, and a stones throw from Wisconsin; the only thing I was on schedule for was missing the first set of fights. The truth was, after coming here straight from work, I wasnt even out of my work clothes yet. go on!, and so it did. |
