Walking to Harrah's Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the blinking lights and tall, colorfully arched hallways were filled with portraits of smiling, middle aged people with fortune far greater than my own. And like a moth to a flame, the cheers of winning and the clatter of large coins falling into the bucket of a slot machine, I am drawn to the pit of Roulette and Craps tables.

LAS VEGAS, April 30, 2004 -- Michael McDonald proved that some things just get better with age as he won the Battle at the Bellagio II and advanced to the K-1 Final Elimination this summer. The Canadian turned aside three challengers to capture the K-1 USA 2004 Championship, held before a sellout crowd at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Having just watched the first round of the Open weight Pride Grand Prix I have put pen to paper and put together a list of random ramblings regarding the Pride Grand Prix show that took place on the 25th of April. One big upset mixed in with a mixed bag of fights that included fighters that had no business in the Pride Grand Prix came off with well
Mixed results.

TOKYO, April 21, 2004 -- K-1 will further develop its new MMA Rules division with "ROMANEX" (derived from "Roman" and "Extra" ), a blockbuster fight event set for Saturday May 22 at the Saitama Super Arena. The announcement was made by K-1 Event Producer Sadaharu Tanikawa in a press conference at the Shin Takanawa Prince Hotel in central Tokyo.

Now that we know that the first round line-up for the PRIDE open-weight Grand Prix tournament, schedule for April 25th, will have Murilo Ninja fighting against Sergei Kharitonov the Chute Boxe team is improving the grappling training. The other news come from Wanderlei Silva and Shogun that probably will fight in the next Bushido Event in MAY. Wanderlei against Kondo and Shogun will know in the next few days.

Former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion, "Iron" Mike Tyson (50-4 (44 KO's), has signed a contract to participate in his next boxing bout. Slated for July, the fight will mark both Tyson's first ring appearance in over a year as well as his first fight promoted by Fight Entertainment Group (FEG), a subsidiary company of K-1, the world's premiere martial arts fighting sport.

Masato Extends World Max Win Streak TOKYO, April 7, 2004 -- Defending K-1 World Max Champion Masato defeated Serkan Yilmaz in the main event of the K-1 World Max 2004 World Tournament at Yoyogi Stadium in central Tokyo. It was Masato's eighth consecutive win since late 2002, and capped off an event featuring 16 fighters from 12 countries battling in K-1's under-70 kg World Max class.
