It appears that Joe Riggs will be the man to replace “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler to take on Patrick Cote at TKO 21 in Montreal Quebec on June 11th, 2005. Joe Riggs is a UFC veteran and is coming off a win and is stepping up on short notice to take the fight against another UFC veteran Patrick “The Predator” Cote. Cote is excited about the opportunity and told MMA Ring Report, “He is a ground and pound fighter but if he is really a true warrior, he will stand up with me. If Tito Ortiz can't finish me at the ground and pound game, I don't know how he can hurt me.”

From Dream Stage Entertainment May 25, 2005 TOKYO , Japan –Two non-tournament bouts have been announced for PRIDE FIGHTING'S next event, CRITICAL COUNTDOWN 2005. In the first, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira of the Brazilian Top Team will take on Poland 's 1996 Judo Olympic gold-medallist, Pawel Nastula. In the second bout Russia 's Sergei Kharitonov takes on veteran heavyweight, Pedro “The Rock” Rizzo of Brazil .

Robbie Lawler is Out

Robbie Lawler is out of his proposed bout with Patrick Cote. The potentially entertaining fight was set to take place at TKO 21 “Collision” in Montreal Quebec in the main event but that will now have to wait. The TKO organization and their president Stephane Patry is currently hard at work on finding a replacement fighter for Lawler but initial reports of Jorge Rivera appear to be premature. It is unknown at this time who the replacement will be. -MMARR-

May 19th, Lemoore , CA -To sum up the WEC's 15th installment in one word would simply be "wow"! The two much-hyped main events actually lived up to the talk and more as James Irvin Squared off with Dough Marshall and Poppies Martinez took on Cole Escovedo, while the rest of the card was filled with UFC veterans from top to bottom. Again, what a show!
