 The MFC 9 “No Excuses” weigh ins are in the books and the new MFC middleweight championships was proudly on display as the biggest fights in MFC history will take place tomorrow. The weigh ins for tomorrow’s main event was a rather peculiar affair as Patrick Cote had to weigh in two times.

On a sad note, the doctor from the Edmonton Boxing commission informed the promoter of the Maximum Fighting Championships, Mark Pavelich, that one of his superfight headliners Josh “The Gringo” Russell had a “cyst on his brain” and would not be allowed to fight.

From Dream Stage Entertainment March 8, 2006, TOKYO, Japan – Two additional bouts have been announced for PRIDE FIGHTING’S upcoming event, BUSHIDO Volume 10 The first bout will feature “The New York Bad Ass” Phil Baroni as he takes on Japanese mixed martial arts veteran, Yuki Kondo. Also announced is a match up of two top lightweights as Brazil’s Luis Azeredo goes head to head with Joachim Hansen of Norway. Previously announced bouts include: the return of the 2005 Grand Prix tournament champions as lightweight champion Takanori Gomi faces Brazil’s Marcus Aurelio and welterweight champion Dan Henderson goes head to head with Japan’s Kazuo Misaki … also announced, “Little Evil” Jens Pulver of the United States versus foot lock-specialist Masakazu Imanari of Japan.
