It has been a whirlwind few days as Jason MacDonald went through two fighters in two days and just recently found out he will finally be fighting Neil Berry who is a last minute replacement for Edwin Aguilar. Aguilar in turn, was a last minute replacement for Tyrone Roberts. It has been a whirlwind few days as Jason MacDonald went through two fighters in two days and just recently found out he will finally be fighting Neil Berry who is a last minute replacement for Edwin Aguilar. Aguilar in turn, was a last minute replacement for Tyrone Roberts. MFC president Mark Pavelich told MMA Ring Report, I talked to his brother (UFC veteran) Andre Roberts first and foremost, his brother said he was going through some problems with his girlfriend, emotional problems
.so I received an email from Tyrone himself saying he would not be able to fight after I had paid for his flight, everything else like that done all the advertising
Edwin Aguilar was unable to fight due to the fact that he had been medically suspended by the California Athletic commission for fighting while he was medically suspended from his loss to Martin Kampmann in the recent WFA King of Streets event in the Forum in California. Aguilar was stopped right before he was going to get on the plane to fly out to Canada for his proposed fight with Jason MacDonald. He is now Indefinitely suspended and would not be licensed by the Edmonton Commission so these chain of events have led to Neil Berry stepping up big time to fight Jason MacDonald. Pavelich had high praise for Neil Berry as well as his camp leader Lee Mein calling them true Fighters, for stepping up to the plate. The rest of the card is below along with weigh in Photos. Two fighters missed their contracted weight limit, Mike Bell who missed weight at the last MFC as well was again off target with a whopping 7.2 pound miss off his 155 weight limit. Keith Weafer also missed his 205 pound mark by just over 3 pounds, both fighters give up a percentage of their fight purse over to their respective opponents. The event goes tomorrow at the Shaw Conference centre in Downtown Edmonton and will see first MFC lightheavyweight crown on the line as Victor Valimaki takes on Jason Day in the main event and BJJ black belt Fabio Holanda looks to chime in on Mike Bell in a featured super fight. The show starts at 7:30pm. Look for Video Interviews with many of the fighters to come in the coming hours. MAIN EVENT MFC LHW TITLE
