The Maximum Fighting Championship is ready to heat up the winter with a blast of hot mixed martial arts action on Friday, Feb. 3 2007 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. That will be the night of MFC 11 Gridiron which will mark the professional fighting debut of Edmonton Eskimos star defensive lineman Adam The Boogeyman Braidwood and the return to the ring of his teammate and the 2005 Grey Cup Games Most Outstanding Canadian, Mike The Wolverine Maurer. Both Adam and Mike have officially signed their contracts and they both have promised to deliver so their opponents better be ready, said Mark Pavelich, the Owner/President of the Maximum Fighting Championship and Pro Camp Sports Management. Adam has been training for a long time and with all his natural talent, I believe he could be a major star in mixed martial arts. And Mikes determination and raw aggression make him virtually unstoppable. After the tough season the Eskimos had, I pity the opponents who will feel the wrath of these two warriors at Gridiron. MFC 11 Gridiron will also mark the return to the ring of the MFCs Light Heavyweight champion Victor The Matrix Valimaki along with the MFCs international sensation and UFC star Jason The Athlete MacDonald. These two fighters will proudly represent The City of Champions and the great province of Alberta when they fight in the UFC later this month (please see below). Also at Gridiron, there will be a No. 1 contenders bout for a shot at the Light Heavyweight title when Jason Dooms Day squares off against Quebecs ferocious Martin Desilets. The winner of this fight will not only get a crack at Valimakis belt but will likely also be the next Canadian to earn a spot in the UFC. And in action at Gridiron will be the newest young gun in the MFC/Pro Camp Sports Management stable, undefeated rising welterweight star Ryan The Kid MacGillivray. We have the best fans in all of mixed martial arts and theyre going to get the best MFC card to date on February 3, added Pavelich. Tickets for MFC 11 Gridiron are available now through Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling the Maximum Fighting Championship office at (780) 995-9095. The MFCs last three events have all been complete sellouts so dont delay in ordering your tickets today. MacDonald craving UFC success The month of December is perhaps the biggest time period in the history of the Maximum Fighting Championship and Pro Camp Sports Management. Along with planning for MFC 11 Gridiron as well as the entire 2007 schedule and the announcement of a new training facility at Golds Gym Edmonton, the final stages of preparation are underway for two huge fights featuring Pro Camp stars Jason The Athlete MacDonald and Victor The Matrix Valimaki. On Dec. 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, MacDonald will make his UFC pay-per-view debut against American fan favourite Chris The Crippler Leben. That fight will highlight the undercard of the show featuring the main event battle for the UFCs Light Heavyweight title between champion Chuck Liddell and former champion Tito Ortiz. MacDonald had such a triumphant debut in the UFC when he submitted Ed Herman in October live on Spike TV that he has been deemed the man to take on the resurgent Leben. The winner of this fight will take a giant step up the ladder towards the UFCs Middleweight championship. Jasons is absolutely scary in training right now so Leben better get his affairs in order before getting into the Octagon, said Pavelich. Chris is a bully and Jason is coming to punish him for his bad behaviour.
