Coming off the overwhelming success and media attention garnered by MFC 11 Gridiron, the Maximum Fighting Championship is excited to announce its next show and a new athlete scheduled to compete. The MFCs popular series Unplugged will return for its third show, Hits Back which will be held Friday, April 20 in the ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe in Edmonton. The Unplugged series showcases young rising stars in mixed martial arts and at Hits Back one of the featured fighters who will be making his professional debut is Edmonton Police Service officer Ryan Lawley. Lawley was a professional personal trainer and boxing instructor at Panther Gym in Edmonton before joining the EPS. He has been training in mixed martial arts for the past few years and is ready for his first opportunity in the MFC. Ive wanted to fight for some time now to prove to myself that I can do it and to prove to everyone who has knocked mixed martial arts that it is a true sport and that the sport and the fighters deserve proper recognition, said Lawley. Ryan serves his city with a great deal of pride and I know that he will fight with that same kind of passion, said Mark Pavelich, the Owner/President of the Maximum Fighting Championship and Pro Camp Sports Management. Hits Back will also feature the fourth professional fight for Edmontons own young gun Ryan The Kid McGillivray. The 20-year-old Pro Camp Sports Management sensation put in another dominant performance at Gridiron with a submission victory over Aaron Gallant. Ryan is proving himself beyond a shadow of a doubt as one of the top up-and-coming fighters in Canada. His potential is sky high, said Pavelich. The matchups for Unplugged 3 are currently being set and the fight lineup is expected to be another action-packed card with a stellar main event.
