 Scott Junk and Dominic Richard face off at the weigh ins for MFC unpluged 3
The 3rd MFC Unplugged show is set to take place at the Crown Plaza Chateau Lacombe Friday April 20th, and the weigh ins took place at the world famous West Edmonton with the HMV store serving as the backdrop as Hawaiis Scott Junk weighed in to make his Canadian debut against the sturdy Dominic Richard. Junk is riding a 4 fight winning streak with his one loss coming in his first fight against former UFC Champion Ricco Rodriguez and he will fight in the main event. 2 fighters came in over the contracted amount with Josh Kyrejto coming in over 4.4 lbs and local pugilist Kevin Dolan over by 4.6 lbs. Both fighter will forfeit 20 percent of their purse and it will be given to their opponent. Adam MacDonald who is set to fight Ryan Heck was not at the weigh ins and was announced as being enroute from Halifax. His opponent was on hand however and Heck weighed in on his own. In other pertinent news, Mike Bells opponent Jordan Pisko actually weighed in but was denied a fighters licence based on the fact that fought on an unsanctioned event a few weeks back. On top of that he was TKOd in that event and the requisite 30 days had not passed before he would be allowed to fight again. Edmonton Commissioner Dale Kliparchuk was steadfast in his words telling MMA Ring Report that fighters who fought on unsanctioned event would be held accountable for their actions and not be allowed to fight in legitimate sanctioned events. The commissioner told MMARR The moral of the story is, if you fight in an unsanctioned event, commissions are starting to clamp down.
