The MFC 9 No Excuses weigh ins are in the books and the new MFC middleweight championships was proudly on display as the biggest fights in MFC history will take place tomorrow. The weigh ins for tomorrows main event was a rather peculiar affair as Patrick Cote had to weigh in two times.

Cote weighed in first and looked stunned as the scale read 185.8 pounds, 0.8 pounds over the contracted weight limit. Shortly thereafter MacDonald weighed in at 185 pounds on the nose. Cote looked befuddled and gingerly stepped on the scale once more and inexplicably, this time he hit his weight at 185 pounds. Mike The Wolverine Maurer the MVP of the grey cup game, Canadas equivalent of the Superbowl, made weight at 202.8 pounds to Darren Apels 201.4 pounds. The current football player for the hometown Edmonton Eskimos will be making his MMA debut at what is expected to be a sold out crowd on March 10th, at the Shaw Conference centre in Edmonton Alberta. 3 fighters missed weight with Mike Bell coming in at 162.4 pounds, an alarming 7.4 pounds over the 155 lbs lightweight limit, Kyle Cheyne who came in at 190.0 pounds 5 pounds over the 185 pound weight limit, and Tim Tamaki coming in at 140.2. Fighters will have one hour to lose their excess water weight, otherwise their opponents have the option of declining the fight, or accepting 20 percent of the offending fighters purse and accepting the weight discrepancy.
