Maximum Fighting Championship is bringing another explosive fight card of mixed martial arts to Edmonton's Shaw Conference Centre on Friday, September 8. Light Heavyweight Title Fight and Middleweight Superfight Showdown Maximum Fighting Championship is bringing another explosive fight card of mixed martial arts to Edmonton's Shaw Conference Centre on Friday, September 8. "Unfinished Business will leave no doubt that MFC is one of the top mixed martial arts promotion in the country," says MFC owner/president Mark Pavelich. Edmonton can expect another great night of mixed martial arts combat." In the main event, Edmonton's Victor "The Matrix" Valimaki and Jason "Dooms" Day two of the country's top fighters in the Light Heavyweight Division will battle for MFC's Light Heavyweight title. Valimaki has found an aggressive mindset in the last year and his new approach has led to three straight wins one of them over UFC veteran Dan The Beast Severn. Day is also on a roll, having won five straight fights to put himself in line for the title shot. The night's Superfight promises to be a thriller as MFC star Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald faces UFC veteran Tyrone "The Native Warrior" Roberts in a middleweight clash. In his last MFC fight, MacDonald was involved in an epic contest a five-round Middleweight title fight against UFC veteran Patrick Coté. MacDonald, has since rebounded from that loss with three straight wins. Also a winner of three straight fights, Roberts who is from Tama, Iowa, earned a decision win over David Dodd at UFC 26 Ultimate Field of Dreams. Another match-up will see Brazilian ju-jitsu black belt phenom Fabio Holanda in what is sure to be a fast-and-furious lightweight contest facing the knock out punching Mike Bell. A light heavyweight grudge match will pit two of Edmonton's largest rugby clubs against each other as Keith "The Celtic Warrior" Weafer from the Strathcona Druids battles Jeff Montemurro from the Edmonton Clansmen. And, in a lightweight contest, Roger Alves, a former wrestler with the Canadian national team and the University of Alberta Golden Bears, takes on Bart Sawicz from Vancouver Canada.
