But I have been even more impressed with his training. Before the Eskimos training camp started he was at the gym practicing with the rest of the Pro Camp team and he looked incredible. I know that he has a passion for football and that he will honour his commitment to the Eskimos, but it is so apparent that he has a true love for fighting.
When Adam is able to put all of his time and attention into MMA, there is no doubt that he will get into the world title picture in the blink of an eye, he is that good. Braidwood, the Eskimos rookie of the year in 2006 and a product of Washington State University, joins an elite team with Pro Camp. His teammates include UFC middleweight superstar Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald, MFC heavyweight champion Scott "Punk Haole" Junk, MFC light heavyweight champ Victor "The Matrix" Valimaki, and young standouts Ryan "The Kid" McGillivray and Ryan "The Real Deal" Ford.
The Delta, B.C., native made his MMA debut in February 2007 in a superfight at MFC 11 "Gridiron". In just 1:54, Braidwood flashed his devastating power as he dropped former Pan Am Games karate medalist Ryan Jimmo with a right hand and then followed that up with a flurry of strikes to capture a convincing knockout victory.
Braidwood expects to fight once or twice during the off-season between the 2007-2008 CFL campaigns. The 23-year-old future in mixed martial arts is as bright as any other young heavyweight. I said right after I made my debut in the MFC that I wanted to fight again. It was the most exciting thing I have ever done, said Braidwood. with the right training and Mark's management skills, I know that I can go as far as I want in MMA. I believe I can become a champion and I know I can make that happen.?
