EDMONTON, AB - The Maximum Fighting Championship has signed Wayne Cole to step into the spotlight of a fight with Eric “Big E” Pele at MFC 16: Anger Management on Friday, May 9 at the River Cree Resort and Casino. Cole, who is riding a three-fight winning streak, replaces Gary Goodridge who was injured in training and suffered a back injury.

Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford will continue his ascent towards the Maximum Fighting Championship’s welterweight title when he puts his perfect record on the line against C.J. Fernandes at MFC 16: Anger Management on Friday, May 9 at the River Cree Resort and Casino.

Ryan Ford was impressive in just his fifth MMA bout, taking out "The Secret Weapon" Pete Spratt via standing rear naked choke in the second stanza of their main event bout at MFC 15 "Rags to Riches." The stage is set for Ryan "The Real Deal" Ford to take on Pete Spratt in the main event of MFC 15 "Rags to Riches." The River Cree Hotel and Casino will play host to the MFC which will take place in Enoch, Alberta on   Friday February 22. In other action Ultimate Fighter 3 veteran Jesse Forbes will make his way to Canada to take on Chris Camozzi. Full weigh in results.

Pete "The Secret Weapon" Spratt to face off against rising welterweight Ryan "The Real Deal" Ford. Ford is only 4-0 but is considered one of the best rising young fighters to come out of Canada and will face his toughest challenge yet in veteran UFC veteran Pete Spratt. Spratt who sports a record of 17-10 has had an uneven run of late but is on a two fight win streak. Although his career in mixed martial arts began only six months ago, Ford has become a dynamic force in the 170-pound class with his combination of unbridled aggression, superior strength and blazing speed. Three of Ford’s victories have come by way of knockout including his ferocious assault on Mike Sorensen at MFC 14: High Rollers on November 23, 2007. Spratt has fought some of the best in the welterweight ranks during his eight-year career and has beaten such notables as Robbie Lawler and Rich Clementi. A devastating striker, Spratt was part of the cast of The Ultimate Fighter Season 4 – The Comeback and twice fought for Mark Cuban’s HDNet Fights in 2007.
