Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock at EliteXC

EliteXC announced the that Kimbo Slice will meet UFC Hall of Fame fighter Ken Shamrock at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Despite the animosity between Slice and Brett Rogers they will not fight and instead Slice will face off against a man that has fought much of his recent bouts at light heavyweight and lost five straight fights. Despite his recent losing ways, he is still well known among casual fans as one of the pioneers of the sport and might be a perfect mix for EliteXC who will need their next CBS showing to be their best yet. Slice is 3-0 in MMA and Shamrock has lost seven of his last eight fights.

In welterweight action Jake Shields will face off against Paul Daley in a championship bout despite recent rumors that Shields is unhappy with the promotion.

In women’s action Gina “Crush” Carano will meet Kelly Kobald at 140 lbs. and a possible future opponent, Christiane “Cyborg” Santos, will meet Yoko Takahashi. The winner of these two bouts could potentially meet in the cage sometime down the road and if it does take place, it is expected to be Carano’s toughest challenge yet.

In a middleweight bout IFL and UFC veteran Benji “Razor” Radach will take on Murilo “Ninja” Rua in what could be a very explosive bout as both fighters are known for their aggressive styles. Radach is one of the IFL veterans who have moved on to fight for other promotions following the much publicized fall of one of the more original MMA organizations to form in recent years.
